Yes, I had this symptom and it was my gallbladder, which I had removed. For me, it was almost-painful but very brief. It happened often during yoga or if I twisted my torso.

I'm 20 now and I first got this when I was 16. It's been happening again recently and I'm pretty sure (but not totally convinced) it's gas. My digestive system has been so out of whack lately, so it would make sense. And I've never had kids.

Me too! Seems to happen mid- to late-cycle so I think it's ovulation and / or Fallopian tubes wiggling around looking for that egg! I like it as it reminds me of my pregnancy days.

This just started happening to me 3 or 4 days ago! I am SO SO happy to find this post, because I seriously was starting to go crazy!! My daughter is now 2, but by no means am I ready for another child. Periods pre-pregnancy were always heavy & pretty consistent, and they have been the same normal heavy, "doesn't seem like something bleeding that much should be able to live" periods (sorry...TMI...?? LOL) But seriously, I started feeling little bubbles.....and thought it probably gas. But then it turned into kicks where I actually see my stomach moving! Just finished with period yesterday. Went this afternoon & got a pregnancy test & it was negative. Still feeling the "kicks" as I'm tying this?? So frustrating, confusing, scary & for me stressful!! If anyone has found any answers as to what this could be-besides possible gas-let me know. If it continues, I'm definitely going to check out another test & possibly even call my Dr. About time for another exam anyways.... ugh...

A functional cyst in my case

I've also been experiencing the phantom kicks. I thought I was going nuts. I have a 2 1/2 y.o. & a 14 mo. old, and had a tubal ligation after my 2nd c-section. I also have PCOS, and have been having some pretty sharp pain in my ovaries the past few weeks. I don't have regular periods, and haven't had one for 3 months. I guess it's time to visit to doctor to make sure my cysts haven't gone crazy.

It's most likely gas bubbles moving through your intestines. The reason you notice it more now than before you were pregnant is because you are more aware of what is going on in your body and have experienced a baby moving inside. It happens to me from time to time and it really does feel like a baby moving. I joke around with my boyfriend saying that I have a parasite moving that aliens implanted lol.

Home Remedy !

I also had the phantom fetal movement. I went to OB/GYN and checked for pregnancy and did an ultra-sound everything came back normal. Then I searched the internet and found a home remedy online for this problem and decided to try it.

The home remedy is as follows:
1. Take one small teaspoon of India Asafoetida (Hing) powder.
2. Fry the Asafoetida in one table spoon of (any) oil.
3. Pour one cup of water or yogurt to this mix.
4. Drink it.

Repeat this twice a day for (at most) two days.

After I had this mix for the first time, the moving ball feeling below the abdomen reduced with in few hours. I continued this two more times and the moving ball just vanished.

I am posting this remedy as it worked for me. Hope it helps a few others.

I am 11 years post par and just had this experince. Not only feeling them but literally seeing this protrusion and it moved my hand when I touched it. I've had the Phantom locks and just felt them but never seen or had my hand move with them before. This was more on my right side of my belly but not on my actual side. Weirdest thing EVER!!!!

WOW! This is so helpful! I was freaking out, a literally just told my boyfriend, OMG there's a baby kicking me- how am I pregnant right after having my period and how am I so far along haha! I had NO idea what it was, I just knew that the only other thing it felt like was my baby boy kicking and moving inside of me. He is turning three in 10 days! This is the first time I've had these! I feel so relieved that I am not the only one!

I currently have a stomach bug. The gas pains feel exactly like a kicking baby. Maybe that explains why I've been having pregnancy and childbirth dreams this week.
