huh? How does wearing a tampon help you stay fresh? Seriously, I've never heard of this.

And.... what's up with the 1 day a month that you don't wear a tampon? What's so special about that day?

OP here -- I haven't checked DCUM since I posted this, thinking that no one would take the post seriously. LOVE the responses! Love to hear that I'm not alone. but I'm still mortified. I think that's one of the reasons I didn't go to yoga this weekend (if I had to be totally honest).

never thought about wearing a tampon during class. interesting.

I don't think doing the stretches before class would work, because all the air gets in there because of all the legs-in-the-air poses we do DURING class.

ugh. I don't want to give this up. I love stretching out all the tension. and the end of class -- where you just lie there and do nothing -- is sooooooo amazing. I don't get one minute of peace at home, so just having this time to myself, however short, is divine.

This REALLY isn't good for you---think Toxic Shock Syndrome not to mention all the gross chemicals (especially bleach) that are in tampons. Not a big deal a few days per month but definitely not something you want to be absorbing every day. You are really putting yourself at increased risk for infection and messing with your normal vaginal pH balance. That said, this might not actually be a bad recommendation for the the poster's dilemma. Hope you'll reconsider your frequent tampon use, though.

Yeah, omg! My cousin almost died of toxic shock syndrome when we were in high school. So scary and so not worth the risk!

Did I just READ that correctly?

First of all, how do you get a tampon in during non-menstruating times? Second, how does wearing a tampon keep you fresh?

I'm perplexed and HOPE that you listen to the nurse!

this has happened to me, with legs in air scissor style. I politely declined when the rest of the class did this move (large class, I am in the back). did some stretching instead. haha

Really? Um, the same exact way you would if you were on your period...

Well you must really have some goo pulsing through your vaginal area 30 days of the month to be able to comfortably insert a tampon on off days.

sorry - But that isn't the case for me.

OMG. My good friend has a funny story about this happening to her. Apparently it is normal, but her best friend heard it and started cracking up and was like "OMG that better not stink" and then my friend was all, sotto voce, "that wasn't a fart!" They both got kicked out of class. Though I do not think it was for the queef itself so much as the sophomoric giggling.

I'm not the 29/30 day poster, but I don't see how it's that hard to understand. I use Playtex tampons, plastic applicators, inserted into a moist vagina. Where's the confusion?

I feel sorry for your husband! Must be like the Sahara down there.

I have this problem!!! It is so embarrassing! I started wearing a small tampon for class. I know it's not safe to wear a tampon when you are not menstruating but it has solved my problem. Hope this helps.

You might want to see a doctor, this does not sound normal to me. My vagina is not dry a healthy vagina isn't dry....though I suppose after you go through menopause, it must be dryer.
