Tampon recommendations? Tampax seems to be horrible for me after having a baby.

I had to go to 3 stores to find the ones I like (ultra for heavy flow). 2 stores had none at all. I was wondering if they had been discontinued or something. I bought all they had once I finally found them.

I've had a hard time finding them, too! I get the regular kind usually and could only find super this week at several stores!

I've never tried OB, so many people here have suggested it, I must give it a try. I hear the PP on the dryness, even a normal tampon can be a problem without the "gentle glide" applicator.

About the Diva Cup, that always grossed me out. Don't you keep it up there for 24 hours? I have to think there would be a stink factor that would turn me off from that. The whole concept just creeps me out. Can the PP explain the details of the Diva Cup?

I'm the PP that posted about Diva Cup. No, you do not leave it in for 24 hours. On my very heavy days, I actually have to remove it every hour. That's why tampons don't work for me. I overflow way too soon. According to the website it can be left in for up to 12 hours. It's messy the first few times you use it. Takes a little getting used to. I had a big problems with tampons because they dry me out. I'd hate when I had one in, and it wasn't time to change it, but I knew I was about to get in the car for an hour...so I had to take it out too soon and it hurt! Diva Cup doesn't dry me out and I can change it as often as I want. It's a lot easier to change it at home, because I have access to a sink so I can rinse it out. In public bathrooms I just dump it in the toilet and then wipe it out with a little toilet paper before inserting it again.

I went to Target today and there was not an ob tampon to be found. Strange.

I live in NY and no OB here either! Asked a stock clerk at Walmart (3rd store I went to trying to find them) and she said that their warehouse is completely out.

I have been having the same shortage problem, you can't even find them on line. what gives? I emailed ob today. I can't wait to get an answer.

I bought a diva cup but find it insanely difficult to insert and often it is painful so I know i inserted it wrong...

I'm another who can't use OB because of dryness. I use playtex. The shape is SO much better than tampax. They used to make one with a cardboard applicator, but I can't find it anymore.

Let us know. I've looked in several stores in the past week and can't find them. Luckily, I've been hoarding them for a few months because of the shortage and I have 2 boxes. I pick them up whenever I see them.

My friend buys her tampons on Amazon. They have the kind she wants in stock and there is no store to store drama.

To the Diva cup questioner, it takes a little time to get used to it. I can feel it for the first 24 hrs and then it is fine.

I have had the same problem -- not ONE box in the CVS, Stop and Shop, Rite Aid stores here in Fairfield, Ct. Even looked on Cape Cod over the holiday weekend -- NONE! I am going to call the company! I have had to use other brands with applicators and they are horrible.

I love OB to and there seems to be a shortage. Target has been out lately so has Wal-Mart. Very few boxes at CVS and only one type. Ack. I leak with tampax and playtex.

i live in the DC area and cannot find OBs in any store right now: Giant, Target, CVS, Rite Aid. Its been a persistent shortage problem for about 6 months i seems. Store managers don't seem to be tracking it. Seems very odd

I use Kotex now and love them.
I'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue!!

I love my Diva cup! It took about one or two cycles to get used to it though. So much easier than a tampon or pads. On heavy days I empty about every two hours and reinsert. Like the pp, if I'm in public I dump it, wipe it and put it back in. Takes about 15 seconds total. Now I even carry a latex glove with me to use so it's less messy.
I don't even know mine is in...can't feel a thing (um...after three vaginal deliveries, that is )

I write to ob about the ultra plus (the purple label one) and they told me they were discontinued dye to a manufacturing problem. Not sure if that means they'll be back. Please let us know what the OB response you get is. The whole line seems scarce, and no ultras left online anywhere either.
