I’m just not sure the open sandal is for walking long long distances. I’d wear sneakers. For short to moderate any of keen, Chaco, etc should work. You could also try Hoka (they make a sort of sandal esque sneaker). Or go to REI and try on

These are both knock offs of some designer sandal that looks like this, I want to say Prada but I can’t remember/don’t care enough to look up.
