No advice OP, just sending good thoughts your way. I hope you get this resolved soon.

Not true. I tested pregnant for several weeks after my D&C

because you had been pregnant.

OP hear with an update. Went to quest, thanks poster for suggesting walk in labs.
My HCG from Monday am is 507.
I’m upset, I was hoping it would be quite low. I’m just confused why the 20 sensitivity urine test was negative on Friday.
I think the levels are lowish considering by dates I should be 5.5 weeks. So how did the level jump so quickly. Maybe the urine test from the clinic was just bad. I suppose my options now are to just get the pills, or wait and do another blood test. If I get the pills tomorrow, I don’t have to take them, but at least I would have them or could start the first: any advice?

Can’t you call your gynecologist?

Just get and take the pills.

one problem is that the urine tests really need concentrated first morning urine. but it's also possible the clinic's tests are a bad batch-- you might want to let them know. i'd call in for the pills. if you really don't want to have a baby, you don't need a second HCG test tomorrow or thursday to determine if the betas are doubling appropriately.

if you're on the fence, or just can't face pregnancy just to go through another miscarriage in several weeks, you could always get another HCG. if it's not doubling within 72 hours, it's not likely to be a viable pregnancy.

i'm sorry you're going through this.

Thank you for the advice and support. I’m just surprised I’m in this Position. And yes more surprised the label got so high as I really didn’t think it would stick. I’m terrified of the process with the pills, but I think I just need to be mature about it and move forward. I feel really alone, thanks to those who replied.

Labcorp offers on demand hcg tests ( that's how I caught my last miscarraige as I saw home tests getting lighter and went to confirm by blood). Blood tests are very very sensitive

If you have the pills you need to take them. The process is what it is. If you know you don’t want the pregnancy, there’s no point in letting it progress.

I'm another recurrent pregnancy loss patient. At least for me, I'm not surprised. I get pregnant easily and then lose the pregnancies pretty late. So, like other posters, I wouldn't hesitate to take the pills and end it before I end up with another D&C and possible complications.

You are doing too much. You are pregnant. Get the abortion pill and be over with it. I took the abortion pill and I barely cramped and barely bled as it was so early into the pregnancy. Next time, if you know that you are not on birth control and not trying to get pregnant be now you feel so alone…. Then use a condom. You are 40, not 14.

You can test positive if you just had a miscarriage

OP examine your reluctance to take the abortion pill. If you really wanted to proceed that way you would have taken it already.
You are not alone.

I would wait and do another blood test before deciding.

I sort of agree. I wouldn’t have been able to take it fast enough in OPs situation.

What’s the hang up, OP? Are you really afraid of this safe procedure women perform on themselves every day, or are you seeing this as a last-ditch opportunity to hold on to your youth? Because it will become a baby, then a toddler who needs potty training, then a kindergartener learning to read, then a middle schooler with hormones, then a young adult who needs college paid for. And you’ll be in your 60s. Is this the “youthfulness” you are looking for?
