So characteristic, final straw!

Why didn't you drive? Why can't you pay? Why didn't you park the car. I can see firing him if this was your paid driver, and this was frequent. But he is your spouse and somehow you've assigned him a role he isn't living up to. Why have you done that? And having the other guy to park it was humiliating and that's why he left his wallet.
I cannot drive in the city well- too many distractions with construction, blocked lanes, one way streets-and I can only rarely
parallel park, but I am a woman and somehow that gives me a pass, and I'll bet you wouldn't have been criticized at all. And this is your final straw? If I was in that car I would have been mortified by your behavior not his. He needs a restraining order from you

You don't need a husband. You need a personal assistant and a vibrator, apparently.

So, you knew your "D"H benefitted from a navigator, that he wasn't great at parking, and the he was a bit inattentive. Yet, you were expecting him to, somehow, be completely different when your friends were in the car?

If masterful wayfinding, parking and holder of the credit card were so important to you, why didn't you make an effort to ensure he was successful or just handle it yourself?

Your contempt is, I'm sure, just one of the harbingers of the failure of your marriage. The only person you can change and control is yourself. What will you be doing now?

Not OP, but eye opening set of posts.

The eyes that need opening are OP's. Either DH has something going on which needs attention (ADHD? Cognitive decline? Just distracted by problems at work or whatever?) or he's always had issues with things which are not a huge deal to most of us (gets lost, so she navigates).

Oh, so he was amazingly capable and interesting before you married, and now it’s shocking that he’s a lame dolt?

Nope, he was the best you could do at the time, and you married him. Live your choices.

Op, do you ever get sick of writing fiction post after post?
