HG is well known in the area. Arlington knows, that's why they hired him. At this age, Arlington "polo" boys need to man up if they want to compete. Arlington parents can sit and whine on the side all they want or send little Johnny to the second team. lol. |
Just stating facts, that’s all. I can’t quite understand what you’re so upset about? I’m not complaining one way or another and don’t tend to cry about these things. I’ve been around this area and this game for long enough to know what may happen. Just said it was an unnecessary change and offered up some additional perspective. If it’s development you’re focused on, then all of the teams listed in my previous message were much better in the fall. CD focused on development and that’s precisely why they’re winning now. Which is why they play the games, you know? The boys do want to win.

Any intel on the other new coaches (JR, AP, et al?) Keep hearing about HG but JR has his own Wiki page lol. |
What do you mean by focused on development? What have they developed? How often does the team connect more than 5 passes sequentially in a match? Are they consistently arriving to the goal in a controlled fashion? Do they control the match? How are you measuring development? Or have they just been landing on the winning side of the generally random kickball matches played by all the major clubs at the younger ages? |
I don’t disagree that different variations of kickball permeate u9 soccer, regardless of the levels. McLean and SYC played it heavily in those matches. Alexandria was more about possession, but in 7v7 it’s hard not to look for the long ball when you go down.
It’s not just about the passing either. Yes, they connect multiple passes multiple times in a match. They move the ball around, but still need to do better with recycling when they don’t see what they want. They are more composed defensively. Less overcommitting when pressuring and playing a more complex patient containment style forcing teams into mistakes that they have been capitalizing on. Communication has improved tremendously as well. Runs are well timed and positioning is mostly right for the majority of the matches.

JR is only there for the money. He is a crappy coach.
|
Why? Crappy like lazy? Poor communication? Over the top drill sergeant type? |
The gets carded for screaming type. |
Has also been known to trash talk opposing teams. Not model behavior for pre-teens. |
Is he getting carded in a u9 game or a MLS next game. There is a big difference. |
In my experience, U12. |
You’re not bragging about a 2015 team beating another 2015 team, right? We are talking about 8 year olds. … Especially when it needed two highly questionable PKs to do it?
|
Reread the message. No one is bragging, but it sure sounds like someone is whining. I’d recommend checking your feelings before coming on here. All that was said was the changes were unnecessary. Who complains about pk’s in a u9 game? Grow up.
|
I don't see the difference. Both unaccesptable. |
Youre worried about the score of a U9 game in a development league.... youth soccer will never get better with people like you. Referees are kids and kids make mistakes, unless the score is 5-0 then its just a competitive game |
