+100 I was going to say the same. DoorDash and Uber eats is just pizza delivery all grown up. |
Same here. I'm an old, cheap SOB. I was talking to a friend about tipping and realized that I pretty much don't get into situations where I might have to tip (sit down restaurants, uber/taxi, hotels, house cleaners, etc) |
The fees are ridiculous to our family |
Congratulations to you. |
Congrats. |
Rarely.
I use instacart to deliver groceries to my house when we're coming back from a long vacation; I usually order it at the airport so that it's at our door when we arrive home. It's nice to not have to worry about running out to get milk and eggs. And I sometimes order specific restaurants that are annoying to go to for whatever reason from doordash (like, I hate the drive thu for Restaurant X so I'll sometimes order from there if I really am feeling indulgent). I make 90% of our own food and we pickup takeout 95% of the time we get it. |
cool |
I use it frequently to order food for my dad from his favourite restaurant. He's in Canada. I'm here, I love surprising him with his favourite dish every Wednesday. |
We tried a couple time when we had a newborn. The fees and tip basically cost as much as the meal, so we decided it was worth getting in the car. |
I haven’t either but I didn’t feel the need to start a thread about it. |
Used during pandemic and never again! |
⭐️ Here you go since this is what you were seeking. |
I used DoorDash once during Covid. I hate paying a delivery fee AND a delivery tip ( I do tip) so I only did it that once.

Me! |
+1 especially for take away food. You are multiplying the number of hands on something you intend to directly ingest. I also have noted that my neighbors who get food deliveries are very heavy. I think these deliveries contribute to obesity. |
