I don't know how long your driveway is, but you could park at the end thus preventing people from pulling in? |
No, OP cannot do that. It would ruin her driveway asphalt! |
Anyone is allowed to use your driveway as a turnaround. Shooting them is illegal. "A judge strongly admonished a 66-year-old man Friday before sentencing him to 25 years to life in prison for shooting and killing a woman who was a passenger in a car that mistakenly drove up his driveway in rural New York last year. “I think you really could possibly do the same thing again,” Washington County Judge Adam Michelini told Kevin Monahan before imposing his sentence for second-degree murder. “It’s obvious to me that you feel justified. You don’t take any responsibility for the outcome of your actions. You just don’t get it.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/01/us/new-york-wrong-driveway-shooting-sentencing/index.html |
Puttin up a sign is not the same as shooting. What a weird leap. |
I smell BS. |
Park your car at the end of the driveway. Or get a retracting fence. |
why do you have so much street traffic? Is there a house for sale or maybe something that's temporary? |
If you moved in a month ago how could you possibly know the reason the asphalt is deteriorating due to people turning around in your driveway. If ts broken down since your move you definitely have a defect. |
Op here. The project manager explained this along with the friend of ours who does work in the neighborhood. The asphalt used for the driveway is not the same as that used on the main streets. |
. This sounds like something that should have been discussed during your home inspection if this is the real source of the problem and it should have factored into your decision to buy. |
Asphalt instead of concrete for a driveway is cheaper and a lot less durable. If that's what your HOA requires, then that's what your HOA requires. Get used to replacing it frequently. |
I do not believe you that a few extra people turning around in your driveway is making a significant difference in the wear and tear on your driveway. When you consider leaving the house to run an errand, do you consider the impact on your asphalt and decide to skip the errand? No. Because it’s negligible. |
Wow cars using your driveway is weird. I use the apron only if I have to turn around on any street.
Why does your cul de sac have so much traffic? Maybe a 'dead end' sign at the top of the street would help. |
Sure it is Jan |
I believe her. I’ve seen similar wear. |
