Hiking to see the gorillas in Rwanda. I’ve been on several safaris which were all amazing, but the gorillas are still my favorite travel experience. |
Favorite activity that I personally enjoyed the most: Hiking the Na Pali coast in Kauai
Favorite thing that I enjoyed watching my kid experience: My DD meeting the princesses at Disney when she was 4 and absolutely losing her mind with glee. Call me basic but it was a blast. |

Southern Thai food is infinitely better than northern Thai food. Iykyk |
I was on a business trip to Buffalo, NY, and had an afternoon free. On a whim, I took an Uber to Niagara Falls and did the Maid of the Mist boat tour by myself. It was October or November. I got absolutely soaking wet and had to buy Niagara Falls cheesy clothes at a gift shop, but it was utterly exhilarating and such a fun way to break up a business trip and do something for myself, which I never do. |
Opera in Vienna
Getting within a few yards of a momma lion and her cubs, and then within feet of the male lion in Tanzania Night snorkel with manta rays, Big Island, Hawaii -- This was otherworldly. |
Beach Week 1991…and 92. |
NP but lol no. I did a lot of hiking in Australia with few people and lots of kangaroos… plus wallabies, koalas, a wombat, a goanna, an echidna, and lyrebirds. I did see a venomous snake on a trail but it was easy to avoid. I had the most incredible time in Australia. What makes a travel memory stand out to me isn’t just the sights. It’s also about the friendship and love I had with my companions, the sense of adventure and physical challenge, and nostalgia for my carefree life before kids. |
Gathering shells on an island off Tarpon Springs. The shells were magical to my kid, and my grandmother was alive. A great memory. |
