They were not unhappy. The movie had the dream sequence of what would have happened if they stayed together but who knows if that’s true. How do you know Seb achieved his personal dreams? He looked absolutely devastated when he saw her again. Why the long pause before choosing their song if he was happy? There’s no indication he has a wife and child.
