AOS AET admissions decisions this week?

Yes, many kids are waitlisted that never get in. But shouldn’t worry too much until after TJ admissions. After that, chances of moving are pretty slim. Can’t speak for AOS / AET, but for TJ, if there is 50 applicants, there could be 5 admitted, 30 waitlisted, and 15 rejected

Does anyone think the waitlist admission chance will be higher this year with the introduction of the pre-IB and HAMsci to 8th graders this year along with the academies?

Did anyone get accepted to both this year? Seems like most are getting in one or the other? Also, if waitlisted in their preferred, but accepted to the other, by accepting one does that automatically take them off the waitlist of the other?

Only marginally. Not sure why you would pick pre-IB or HAMsci over AOS and AET, when both are new programs that won’t be on the radar of college admissions counselors

She was waitlisted for the Pre-IB program though. She probably will not be attending either because if she is not accepted to either TJ/AOS/AET she would be most happy/thriving at her base school and participating in the activities there surrounded by her friends.

What jobs or college majors does HAMsci Program prepare students for?

This seems like an earlier pathway for the MATA program and not AOS.

Found this interesting. Historically AOS had notably higher SAT scores than AET. I assume this has been changing with more kids interested in AET?

AET Entrepreneurship is the least rigorous program and that cohort might be influencing the lower SAT average. AET-IT has become more competitive than AoS in recent years.

Yes. With both offers, acceptance of one automatically rejects the other offer completely.
Whereas a waitlist is not impacted by acceptance of another offer.

To anybody who was accepted, does it give you a deadline of when you have to accept/decline your offer? My guess is March 19th but can someone verify?

Deadline is 21st

So potentially an advance in the waitlist after this along with pre-ib/HAMsci March 19th deadline?

Yes, mostly from people who got accepted into both AET or AOS, picking one or the other.

And the spot goes to someone in the same school? Or how is it passed down?

HAMsci is comparable to MATA, wouldn't influence AOS/AET waitlist

Same school first, if none goes to general pool
