As a parent that is paying a high tuition for their children to attend, it is aggravating that teachers consistently cancel classes, and there are no substitute teachers. Some of the most important classes are canceled on a regular basis, as well as have teachers who cannot teach. It is concerning that teachers provide their political views and require children to watch CNN videos during class. It’s concerning on a number of levels that the coaches that they provide are not trained, have no certification, and no experience. There are some sports that get more attention, and therefore more experience coaches. If you are not a main sport, then do not expect any support on having your child play at a higher level. In fact, you should expect that it’s going to be a nightmare because they consistently change coaches, and do not provide any communication whatsoever with parents. Teachers do not respond to emails or provide recommendations when requested. So go in with a knowledge that there are no perfect schools. as a positive, our boys love school, they love the kids they attend school with. There are some teachers they absolutely love. Our kids probably would never say they like school, but they do like Dematha.,

Recent parent here. We never had any of these issues in academics or athletics. Well, he may have watched a CNN video, I don't know and I certainly would not be hung on such a triviality. I mean, lol.

Current parent. We have not experienced this to date. Granted our son has one teacher who is sub par but find a school that doesn't have a weak teacher occasionally.

I would send him there again though for sure.

I know, right? FWIW, im not a fan of Fox News but it wouldn’t bother me if those clips were shown in class. 🤷🏽‍♀️ We are a more progressive family at a K-8 that is more conservative so my kids are used to discussing different viewpoints with us. All we can do at home is to teach them to be kind and to develop critical thinking skills. Gotta be exposed to different views to help home those skills!

Any thoughts on how the son of a two mom (lesbian) family would fit it? The music program is very appealing but our son wouldn't do well in a purely conservative environment where he was constantly told his family is wrong. We are practicing Episcopals so definitely not adverse to religion. Thanks!
