When did you return to prepregnacy weight?

How have you done it?

Related question for parents who are further out from breastfeeding: do you ever get your boobs back? Mine are still bigger and saggy.

I am about 3 years out from nursing my last baby. My boobs grew two cup sizes and are way less perky— kind of deflated, and my skin is not as elastic. Investing in good bras has been really helpful! I was a B cup before kids, then wore nursing bras for basically 5 years straight, so I felt like a new woman when I got some new bras a few years ago. Yes they still look different, but I’ve embraced it.

Two or three weeks with both kids. I gained less than 20 pounds, so most of it was baby/fluid/placenta etc. and I breastfeed. I did not diet.

I was quite overweight when I got pregnant, gained 30 lbs, was back down to 5 over my pre-pregnancy weight by the time I left the hospital and at my pre-pregnancy weight by my 6 week check up.

But I still can't lose the non-pregnancy weight. Go figure.

DD1 was a premie and was in the NICU for about 3 weeks, when we took her home I was wearing my skinny jeans. Fast forward several years to DD2 - well I finally shed those extra 7lbs after 7 years! I’m no spring chicken and I watched what I ate and exercised a ton. I think my body as I age is designed for the zombie apocalypse. I think about food and gain weight.

I had vastly different experiences with my two deliveries. Both were inductions. After the first I think my weight did not go back for at least 9 months. I also retained a lot of fluid for a solid 3 weeks postpartum. After the second I went back to my normal weight in about a month. No fluid retention this time and everything was easier.

15 months pp - I think weaning did it. Otherwise my weight didn’t really budge and then a little bit of dieting.

Never - well never say never but my kids are 14, 12, and 9, and not yet.

12 weeks after both kids. I know this is not the norm and not something everyone can do. I made the weight loss a priority because I literally couldn’t stand having extra weight on me. Yes, I am vain. I need exercise to sleep well and manage stress so I was back at it as soon as the doctor gave me the okay.

I gained about 50lbs and it took a year to lose. I had to do weight watchers for three months and then I did a lot of spin/workout classes. I could not lose when breastfeeding though. I didn’t start until 4 months pp.

A month. I was already 20 pounds overweight before pregnancy and gained about 20 pounds. I left the hospital 10 pounds down and a month later had lost the other.

I honestly never lost all of it, but I was pretty thin when I first got pregnant, around 5’8” and 120 lbs. Got up to 160 with each pregnancy. Now I’m around 130 and I don’t think I’ve been meaningfully below 130 since I had my first kid.

I gained 40 pounds and 10 days after birth (today) have lost 25 of them. I'll keep you posted on the last 15.

Thank you! The baby was almost 8 pounds in case that's relevant. And she has the sweetest little baby dimples in her cheeks 😍
