Aruba. Much needed vacation. Or "consulting" from Bermuda.

The ones with asterisks are staying in the system. They may or may not be the principal next year...but they would have indicated they were leaving by now. I would imagine some of the others (Seneca and Baker I know for sure) were past due for retirement. I think Dr. Worthington has been at Baker for 15 years now? I imagine with all this going on, they had enough. I would have put in my papers too after the past few years!

This is it. The ones at retirement age may have stayed longer if things were better. But they're getting out. Who can blame them?

Their hands are tied thanks to central office. They are reprimanded for too many referrals and/or out of school suspensions.

Violent students are shuffled from school to school because there's no real expulsion from mainstream schools.

Students know nothing will come of their inappropriate behaviors other than a conversation, especially the repeat offenders, so behaviors just get worse.

There aren't enough qualified teachers to fill the vacancies so they have to deal with more sub-standard employees.

Too many parents scream at them and cuss them out when they their child is at fault.

The deck is stacked against them.

Too bad the principal at Forest Knolls isn’t leaving.

This is the problem with transferring as school-based staff. If you really fear a child, there’s a good chance you’ll encounter them again unless they are in secondary school and you can go to ES.

It sounds like all the Silver Creek feeders will have new principals next year.

When are the selections announced?

Usually a few are appointed at a time at board meetings from March through June, sometimes even July. Things may take a little longer to happen this year, with all the chaos at central office.

Couldn't pay me enough to work in public education. Nothing but grieve from all angles...can't satisfy central office and can't satisfy parents.

Not as far as we know

March should be very interesting to see if the list grows. It is recommended that you give the state 60 days to process your retirement. So that would be May for those who want to retire July 1. If you give notice before April 1 you get to keep an additional 5% of your leave payout.

New admin appointments should be announced at the June BOE meeting. However, if someone isn't appointed by July 1 then the school will have an acting principal.
