Here's how it feels. It's like whoever designed it (and it wasn't Katherine, get real) was a Project Runway contestant who has somewhat minimal background in fashion, good construction skills, and borderline taste. However, they made a really cute matched set with shorts and a button down in week 3 using an upholstery textile that shouldn't have worked but kind of did, and Heidi loved it and kept saying "I would wear it! I would totally wear it!" And then in week 8 they made a genuinely pretty one shoulder maxi dress with this dramatic flounce in a really wow color and it looked fantastic on the runway and the model really worked it. And every other week they turned in some puff sleeve sundress that the judges were bored by, but it was reasonably well made and not a total travesty, so they kept advancing.
And then they get to the finals and it's obvious they're in way over their head and trying to capture the magic of the two good looks but maybe they weren't that good after all? I mean it was a matched set made out of couch fabric and a one-shoulder dress. And actually all they can do is buy these borderline ugly prints and make a puff sleeve and full skirt and actually, uh, that's not interesting or innovative or flattering and everyone hates it but they clap politely and are like "you're doing your thing, that's great!" before moving on to the actual contenders.
Cleobella just has that very specific vibe.
