Did Nutrafol make you gain weight?

absolutely not. I lost 60 pounds

I have gained 10lbs in 2 mths. I am in menopause and have been for years. I’ve never had a weight issue. I have been taking Estroven Complete for 2 years as well. 2 mths ago I started taking Nutrafol. I noticed I bloated after taking it the first few times. Then I thought I leveled out. But had a lot of water retention. I continued for 2 mths thinking I would adjust to it. I have gained 10 lbs during this time. I am gluten free and eat a clean diet. After stopping for a week, I am no longer bloated and am down 4lbs. The only change I made was stopping Nutrafol. I think for me it caused bloating and water retention.

I would definitely believe it causes weight gain!

For those looking for thick hair, I take a biotin supplement a few times a week and my hair really thickened back up again. Worth a try. It may not be necessary to take all those other vitamins and minerals at the huge quantities.

Menopause for years? Peri-menopause for years, ok. Peri can last up to 10 years. Wouldn't you be post-menopause?

It doesn’t. The same thing that is making your hair thin and receded (hormone changes, perimenopause) is what is making your gain weight. Vitamins are not making you gain weight. Give me a break.

I have gained quite a bit of weight over the past few months and couldn't figure out why. I exercise and I haven't changed my eating habits. The only change i have made...I started taking Nutrafol almost 5 months ago. I jumped online to research and found this link. I am NOT in menopause or perimenopause. So disappointing. Will be sending back the shipment I just received and stop taking immediately.

YES! And very quickly.

I took it for two days and stopped. While my hair stopped falling out immediately (shedding due to calorie deficiency. I am on a weight losing journey with Mounjoro (cosmetic reasons...not health) going from 150lbs down to 120lbs (I am very small)) and I took it for two days and shot up 4 lbs while being in a substantial calorie deficit. It's most likely water weight because I feel bloated and puffy but still. The FDA suggests no more than 30mg of Biotin a day. Nutrafol has 3000mg which is a crazy high dose. Not good for liver or kidneys or anything. It's taking me a full week to get the 4 lbs off. Very frustrating.

That is very weird about the Biotin. The vegan formulation doesn’t list biotin as an ingredient but you’re right about the regular formulation. Crazy!

All supplements make me hold water weight but if I stop the supplement the water weight goes away. It’s maybe 3-4 lbs if I am consistently taking supplements.

absolutely not. I've been taking it for 6 years and have been doing keto and have lost 70 pounds

There are studies that show that excessive amount of Vitamin A can cause weight gain. Many hair supplements have an excessive amount of vitamin A.

I have been on it for 8 months and I have put on almost 12lbs. I see improvement in my hair but I can't stand the weight gain.

I started taking it this past weekend and have put on 3 pounds! I’m being very careful about my diet and exercise so this is a huge bummer. I might try to wait out the month and see if it gets better. I’m a scientist but I don’t think it’s crazy to think that different bodies can react differently to this, even though it’s highly unlikely. Anyone with advice?

I took it for 2 weeks and gained 5 lbs AND broke out in the worst case of acne!! I haven’t had bad skin since I was in my 20s, I’m 62 now. I am beside myself!! My face wascovered is red cystic bumps along with 18 pustule
Pimples!! I stopped taking it 2 days ago and my face is beginning to clear up. I will be letting my dermatologist know next week that he shouldn’t be selling this to acne prone people.
