Sigh - again?!?!

What's wrong with you?!? I'm not Oxfod Dad, but you're just rude. Posters respond to questions throughout the years with their experience.

Just because your life is so bland you're never recognized doesn't mean you don't post as much, if not more.

This poster has just as much right to respond as you or someone else.

collegeessaymentor.com

He's pricy, but his admissions list is insane. Out of around 30 clients, he sends like 5+ to Stanford, 3+ to Yale/Harvard/Princeton/UChicago, etc.

To be fair he says: “Please note that I limit my one-on-one work to students who I believe will be strong applicants to elite universities. As a rule, this means having high grades in challenging classes, a test score of ACT 34+ or SAT 1500+, and substantial activities outside of the classroom.”

This clearly helps “his” results.

Look up Dennis V on Wyzant. The first time I looked him up last year he cost half the price so he must be attracting lots of clientele to increase his fees. There are others that look pretty good too.

Agreed. No writing tutor "sends" students anywhere. Reputable tutors help students get the best out of themselves.

Hi. I have worked in an adjacent space (personal statements for international med grads seeking residency in the US) and just gave a bit of free advice on an earlier thread about how to DIY with your kid: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/15/1202543.page#27424511

I had my DC do eleven years of writing prep, five sessions a week for nine months a year. It was a free program offered by the county. I figured if that didn't work hiring someone for $400 for a few hours wasn't going to make a difference.
