Nausea before labor begins

If you felt nauseous leading up to labor, how long after feeling sick did you go into labor? Days, hours?

I'm exactly 38 weeks and having a sudden wave of nausea. I'd rather not going to labor for a week!

I felt nauseous a few hours before harder labor hit. I was then throwing up and having diarrhea for a few hours until we went to the hospital. Good luck!

It was the day before for me. It felt like a low blood sugar type if thing. Lunch time on Thursday, ds was born at 4:14 on Friday.

Yikes, I hope for some there are several days in between. The nausea only lasted one hour.

I'm 40 weeks 2 days now, and I've been feeling really nauseated on and off for the last 2-3 weeks, like I might throw up but I haven't yet. I've also felt slightly crampy on and off (with and without accompanying lower back aches, which I haven't before) AND some occasional sharp pains in my cervix (wasn't expecting that one). But no actual contractions or other signs of labor, so....who knows.

I know it doesn't tell you much but do you know how dialated you are?

No, my provider doesn't do internal exams, though she did say the sharp pains could be my cervix softening. I kind of want to know but at the same time, if the answer is, "you're not dilated at all" it would bum me out and mess with my head, so I think I'm better off not knowing.

She also told me the average first timer in the practice goes 10 days past her due date, so I've mentally prepared myself for another week of waiting. Not sure what the stats are in general.

Like a PP, I am currently 40 weeks 2 days and have had diarrhea and nausea for about the last 10 days on and off. It usually sets off a wave of contractions, but then it stops within an hour. At my 40 week appointment I was 2 cm. So at least in my case, it hasn't meant that labor was imminent, but hopefully things will get going soon because I am OVER IT.

Me again, as the conversation has now changed a bit I thought I would add on to my previous statement.. I had gone to the doctor on Monday and was 0 centimeters dialated, so was prepared for it to be a longer wait time. The feelings of nausea started around lunch time on Thursday and like I said, DS was born Friday afternoon. So in a lot of ways we went from 0 to 6 in a matter of a few days.
I have a fairly active job, Elementary School teacher, and my doctor told me that for folks who remain active through the bitter end of the pregnancy, things can and do progress very fast. And now... I believe her!
