Mine's gotten awful. Nothing seems to be making it better, and I'm terrified it's going to stay like this every after I give birth. Has anyone else with rosacea had the same experience? |
i have rosacea and i had the opposite experience. but then, after pregnancy, my skin went back to "normal." so often we have issues during pregnancy that then reverse themselves after giving birth when our hormones return back to normal. wouldn't be surprised if that happened for you! what has your OB/midwife said? |
Op I'm in the same boat. Hoping it gets better after delivery when I can take my medicine again!! |
OP I had the same issue. Worst ever during first TRI. Switched from metrogell to finacea and that only helped a little. Gave up hot beverages for a while and that helped. It was improving by 6 months though. |
Try coconut oil. Seriously. Organic, unrefined (unpressed) coconut oil. Give it a week. I've tried everything and it works for me. When I stop using it daily, rosacea returns. Good Luck! |
My disappeared during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Now that I have almost completely weaned my son, it is back in a big way! |
Sorry for the stupid question but how do you use coconut oil? Put it on your face? Or is it something you drink? The only thing I've tried is Prosacea topical gel which honestly don't make a huge difference, although I don't use it as regularly as I should. |
Timing on this post is wild! I have rosacea and it hadn't bothered me in years, went off medicine and just used heavier foundation. Just this week it popped up again - crazy red and is switching between cheeks. Its not in full force yet, but it will be soon. I'm 27 weeks. |
I put the coconut oil all over my face, basically used as a moisturizer. If you do some research, there is pretty profound incidental use of coconut oil for both acne and rosacea. My skin is so much better, glowing. Let me know if it works for you!! |
Sorry for the hijack, wondering about finacea and or metrogel during pregnancy (I am using for acne and planning on ttc soon). I know it's category b but are there any risks? My derm says no but I tend to like to follow up a bit. Any research? |
Oh my goodness thank you for this post! I have a whole jug of organic coconut oil (you can get it at Costco) and I am going to start using it right now! Been to 2 dermatologists and the only thing that works is antibiotics, but as soon as I went off them it came back. |
