Necklace for portrait collar dress

I am wearing a ruby colored portrait collar dress to a wedding this weekend. Statement necklace or simple diamond?

Simple diamond. I think the point of a portrait collar is to accentuate the neck and shoulders. A statement necklace will compete with the dramatic lines of your dress.

I think a portrait collar would look much better with pearls than a diamond pendant. But I agree that a true statement necklace would not be right.

I did buy a statement necklace. Guess I will look for something simple. Dress is black opted for a 4 strand beaded necklace. I should change that correct?
