I did Weight Watchers successfully a few years ago and I don't remember being this hungry! I just started this week so maybe my body is still getting used to it.
I also might not be giving myself enough activity points for my early morning boot camp. It is pretty intense, and a combination of a lot of different cardio and strength training. I couldn't find any helpful information about how many points it's worth. Help me! |
Eat a bunch of zero point fruits and veggies. Spend your point on high protein foods to keep you feeling fuller longer and remember to drink at least 80 oz of water. |
I usually count my boot camp as 4 points. 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weight lifting for my hour class. |
20 minutes of cardio=20 minutes of running. Sorry.

Wow, only 4 points? Depressing. I guess I am going to have to start wearing my heart rate monitor to figure out how many calories I am actually burning. It probably varies by the day, too. For example, I would rate yesterday's class as moderate, but today's was most definitely intense. |
I'm doing ww too...if you put the info into the online system it calculates the points for you(?) yeah 4 doesn't seem like a lot of points for a major workout. I have lost 30 lbs since Sep and it was tough the first couple weeks felt like I was starving, but I got used to eating more fruits/veggies and that helps. Hang in there. |
Part of your issue is that you dont want to be hungry. None of us (I speak as a WW member, i'm with you all the way!) want to be hungry, so we look for reasons the points are wrong. You didnt become overweight because you were underestimating your workous; you're overweight because you ate too much. Now you just have to get used to eating less.
Drink cold water, eat veggies & just get used to being a bit hungry |
Oh, yeah, that'll work. |
you don't have to get used to being hungry, try to have lots of zero point stuff on hand OP. I bought veggie trays and fruit trays when I had this problem. Christmas week & Thanksgiving week I also bought a big box of clementines to fill up on. |
The first 3 weeks you are starving as your body readjusts. |
The only time I have ever successfully lost weight is when I have "gotten used to being a bit hungry." That includes going to bed hungry. Not starving, but just avoiding taking off that little empty feeling. It is not normal to be stuffed all the time. |
+1 |
Personally I don't think its about 'feeling hungry' at all but realizing that just because our tummies arent bursting and full...doesn't necessarily mean we are hungry. Empty feeling in tummy doesn't = hungry. |
Agreed on having lots of zero point stuff around. My workouts (35 minute swim) or 35 minute elliptical then weights, were usually 6-7 points...I ALWAYS, always, ate them back, otherwise, I was starving. And I lost 25lbs in 4-5 months. Are you eating all your extra weekly points? including the extra exercise ones you earn? you have to! otherwise, I actually ended up not losing those weeks. good luck. |
