Beaded jewelry repair?

Can anyone recommend someone to repair a non-fine-jewelry necklace? In trying to protect my favorite fresh-water pearl / beaded necklace from my 6-mo-old, I accidentally broke it myself. I hesitate to take it to a jeweler, as this is not the type of necklace that would be sold in a fine jewely store.
