There are 5 members of our family. Mom, Dad and 3 kids- oldest is around 13. Family issues include eating, manners, chores, marital, and parents job/ career.
Family therapy was recommended to us by kid therapist because (among other reasons), despite almost 1 year of therapy, we have made so little progress on her eating issues. Apparently, family therapy would be all 5 of us in the same room with the therapist. One benefit, I'm told is no designated 'patient.' Anybody ever do family therapy-- and was it useful? Or is the genre so esoteric that DCUM'ers have no experience with particular aspect of mental health? Thank you in advance for sharing your experience. |
