I see you have drank the Kool-Aid. Our leader is good, our leader is great. We surrender our will, as of this date. No one is doubting her success. It is there in $$ numbers. I just disagree that talent is what drives that success. |
You can hate anything you want. Go for it. Talk about your own experience but stop trying to be the mouthpiece for a whole host of people you don’t know. |
So are all just gonna ignore this crazy post? No one wanna comment in this? |
It’s funny, I hate Taylor Swifts music and the manipulation she uses with her fans, but the craziness of this album may be the first sliver of respect I have ever had for her. It is the first time you see true emotion from her. Anger at her fans (who are in a trap she set with Easter eggs and para social relationships), anger at the world and a reckoning that she hates the traps of fame even as she embraces it. It makes her a little bit human. She also shows glimmers of being able to move on with the manuscript.
That said, I don’t like the sound of the album and I hate talk singing. ALSO she is so manipulative I think it just means she is coming after alt rock fans like me to add to her fan base. |
I disagree with you that doesn’t mean I drink koolaid. I love Taylor, Beyoncé, pink, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, John Baptiste, Doja Cat, Imelda May, Mavis Staples, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin There’s room for all of them I think they’re all Amazing artists. |
Ok I don’t find it crazy. I think Daddy I love him is about her fans. She calls her fans vipers and something about sanctimony and empaths. Maybe she is MAGA, she clearly was madly in love with a racist. |
It’s interesting. I think it’s about every girl that dated the wrong guy and what she says to her best friends and her dad who tell her he’s the wrong guy.. and she still doesn’t listen. |
I can see that, but her fans are her friends. She has spied on them, stalked them on line, and invited them to secret parties. I think there is a line about wine moms too. So I see that, she resents the hell out of the fandom she created at times. |
Just saw that she worked with Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles on the Fortnight video. The dead poet society boys.
I’m dead. |
Talent isn’t based on vocal-ability alone - it’s songwriting, emotion, and most all creating something that draws people in and makes them feel/remember/relate/imagine. Her ability to weave a story and relay a message in her wording into her songs in way that relates to the masses is what sets her apart, as well her planning. |
Wait. Now Taylor is MAGA? who was being referred to as MAGA before? Joe? Is the pp sayin Joe was MAGA? |
She’s saying that girls stay with the wrong guy out of pride even though the wine moms were right. It’s true. |
Sadly, that space is blank. But she’ll write your name. |
Seinfeld wasn’t popular until it was squeezed between Friends and ER. It was first on Tuesday night, then Wednesday and finally Thursday. I see Friends is on all day on TBS, The Big Bang at night and Friends on Nik at night. I barely see Seinfeld anywhere. Seinfeld is a clear example of being at the right place, the right time for success. It really isn’t that funny. |
She was targeting dads of fans last year. Every time she has a band on stage, I figure she’s going after that celebrity’s demographic. She had Lana on an album and now has a song that sounds like Lana’s style. She is totally manipulative but I’d love a song where she expresses frustration with fans. She created them. What song is about her fans? |
