Would you come to this party?

We're new in the community, dying to make friends. DC just started play school and pick up/drop off is a carpool line so we don't get to meet other parents.

I want to host a party to get to know them. What would you attend?

A playdate in the park on a Saturday morning or a cookie decorating get together on a school holiday?
It's a part time program and care providers are welcome in case parents can't attend.

Any other suggestions I'm missing? Please weigh in.

It's a 2-3 year old class in a Montessori program if that matters.

Thanks for your suggestions.

i would - more likely something on a Saturday morning since I am a working mom. I think it is a nice idea.

I would definitely attend. Sounds like it would be fun, and it's awesome that you are willing to plan!

Definitely go forward with it.

Either if those would be great. My DD just started at a 2s program and we've already had some get togethers. However, most of the moms don't work. It would be great to include nannies, etc. Please don't do this on one of the upcoming Jewish holidays. If you are at a Montessori school, you likely have Jewish kids and it would be rude to plan something when they are observing a holiday.

If you want to meet parents, I'd have it on a Saturday.

We would attend if it was on a weekend.

Agree with a Saturday play date-type of event. Something that doesn't require me to make or bring anything more than a simple snack or beverage.

Sat morning sounds great

Awesome! That's great to hear!

I was thinking of a Halloween or fall themed cookie decorating morning. I'd provide all the material so moms would only have to worry about bringing the kids

Are there any religious holidays early in October that I should know of? The school is based in a church but has absolutely no affiliations to the place. They only rent the church's basement.

Sounds lame

Sunday brunch. We're observing the Sabbath on Saturdays but would love to meet playmates of our children.
