Palin to do ABC interview this week

Charlie Gibson of ABC will interview Governor Palin from Alaska later this week. I'm surprised that she will be doing this kind of interview rather than something softer, or an interview on Fox. Interesting choice. Here's a link to the story:

You mean they should talk about babes and whatnot? I know what you mean. Just couldn't resist.

How about basketball, hunting, and fishing?

That's too bad...Charlie's not that great with hardball, in my opinion. A Diane Sawyer interview would have been awesome.

Does it bother anyone that she does not even have a masters degree???

I hope that they ask about her formal education and thoughts about education as a priority for the nation.

I can only hope you are kidding about that PP. What exactly does a masters degree have to do with anything? I have yet to employ a masters degree holder who impressed me more than someone with a 4 year degree. I'm sure in some fields it's necessary for licensure, but most of them seem to me to be career students who couldn't get it together after college, so they decided to prolong the process.

George W. Bush has done such a fine job with his master's degree, too. Now Harry Truman, with not even a bachelor's degree. . . . What a poor president he was.

Let's stay in the current generation and century, keep Truman out of this. Dubya on the other hand can use his grad degrees for the outhouse, thank you very much.

There's only 8 weeks left. She can stay under the radar without answering nuts and bolts policy questions without anybody recognizing it because she's all over the TV, internet, in blogs, etc. I'm scared she can ride on this media-darling "glow" right into the White House without ever having to answer the tough questions. The more I read about her the more Vancouver is looking pretty good.

I cannot wait to see her debate Bidon! I wonder if she can stick to the tough issues? I am fascinated by her. I am a democrat, and cannot believe she is running for VP - HRC was soooo well qualified and now this uneducated upstart is in the race.

Yes and no (more yes). It bothers me more that her only education is a BS in journalism from University of Idaho. If she had gotten a BS degree from at least a Tier 1 school (note I did not say Ivy League! Any Tier 1 would do!), I might be a little bit more okay with only a bachelor's. Plus her family's lack of higher education.

Before anyone says anything, I realize college/master's isn't for everyone and people can be successful without college degrees, blah blah blah. But I do expect more from a potential VP.

I think it is insulting to castigate a school with which you are probably not even familiar.

Really, rankings of schools has more to do with federal research dollars, alumni giving etc.

I realized that the quality of an education is what one puts into it, not the name on the degree.

Again, with this kind of snobbery, it is no wonder that Palin is resonating around the country. (And I am not one of her or her party supporters, but really...)

I would like to see her answer questions from multiple journalists in a press room format. I am very insulted by all this scripting and delivering canned material written by others and rehearsed in front of coaches for hours. It will not happen and all the manuevers will be about creating the illusion. I'm not trusting McCain or his campaign and this facade especially when she isn't willing to step up and show that she can handle a mere press conference.

I would think it would be fair to have family questions off limits and unless you invite People Magazine I doubt that is where the hardcore journalists want to go anyway. Now if your answer to every questions is I'm just a good ole hockey mom then it may be fair to ask what the heck that has to do with being able to run the country
