The Human Stain

Hated both of these books. Hated. I not at all arguing with you but I just don't like them. Now, I don't like the human stain author at all. He writes complicated men and one-dimensional women so I could be responding to his obvious misogyny. White teeth, I'll admit, I don't get so I don't viscerally hate that one. Just don't get it.

I like popular junk and can't read dan brown.

I liked Kite Runner but don't think it quite measures up to those mentioned on this thread.

I hate to admit this b/c i feel like I"m admitting I"m old but I don't get reddit.

following the threads is challenging. And what's with the point system and why are there arrows?

sorry to hijack. Slightly. I am hoping oP gives me a straight answer. doing a s/o post will result in me being labeled old and being told to step away from the computer and drink some Geritol or something like that.

Life of Pi is fascinating, but I found The Reluctant Fundamentalist to be truly amazing - and timely.

That seemed to decade-specific to me, I'm not sure it will stand up to the test of time.

The Book Thief?

The Goldfinch?

I know a lot of people hate The Goldfinch, but I really liked it.
