Why have 3+ kids if you can’t afford a babysitter?

I make 500K a year, I can afford a babysitter. I'm not dragging my kids on a flight to sit for hours without us in a strange town, strange room with someone we don't know. To fly back the next day. Pure insanity.

I would go if we could all enjoy the event together and spend time with family.

People want to spend their PTO and weekends with their kids, not traveling to a boring wedding.

It’s very easy to say no. Likely these people are a required invite like a weird cousin the parents made them invite. The bride and groom don’t really want them to come and certainly don’t want them to show up with uninvited kids.

They walk 5 abreast everywhere they go clogging aisles in grocery stores, Costco, sidewalks, etc. it would never occur to them to have one parent shop and the other stay home. It’s a big event.

And that is what posters are saying, that they won't go. It is not worth the hassle knowing your invite is probably just a gift grab anyway.

I have been all over the world with my kid I had at 25. We had a blast together. Wouldn't have wanted it any other way and I traveled extensively, lived and worked abroad in multiple places before having kids.
