Frogs in the house

Anonymous
Not OP, but we also get maybe a couple frogs a year in the house in Alexandria…. I just take them back outside and don’t worry about it?

Now I have to go google the difference between frogs and toads and see what I really have

Op sorry to tell you but if they spawned at your house they will be back next year but louder.

Aw, frogs are cute: they don't bite or sting, and aren't poisonous, apart from the Pickerel frog:

I'm an animal biologist, though. Maybe others have a different tolerance level.

To your problem:
1. Keep humidity away from your house. If the gutters leak, install downspouts that lead far away from your house. Cut back foliage and bushes, and prevent too much crowding around your foundation. Examine the drainage and gradient around your house and correct if necessary.
2. If you suspect they're coming in through the toilet, you need to have your sewer and pipes examined for cracks where frogs could enter. Install a mesh to prevent critters from coming up the pipes and septic tank.
3. Try to identify cracks and holes in your foundation and fill them up. Will come in useful for squirrels, mice, snakes, etc.

+1 And try Adcock’s Trapping which is good at unusual pest intrusion issues.
