Maxi pads, wings or no wings?

Anonymous
Wingless bunches on the side and I get side leaks. Wings are the way to go. Generic always is better for me because there is less ink in them. I don't get why they're putting ink in pads!

And I stumbled upon using a depends incontinence pad once and have never gone back to regular pads.

Can you please post a link? Do the hold floods?

Gah, I wish I could edit my post, poise - not depends. Poise.

These are the ones I buy in bulk for the past 7ish years. (I'm currently 52, and think each month, this HAS to be the last hurrah. Then it's not.) https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/poise-incontinence-pads-for-women-maximum-long-length-(ct-39)/ID=300435994-product

I use long length in 5 or 6 strength for heavy days, and 4 regular length for normal flow days. I also use 2 as my every day panty liner. I don't even have incontinence issues but love these things. They hold floods and I will rarely leak. When I'm stuck using a real maxi-pad, I wonder why poise hasn't put all others out of business yet.

Links no working but Is there only one type of poise pads?

Always wings, but they are worse products now then when newly launched.

They made the adhesive too sticky and the filling less fluffy as it became more liquid absorbent.

Glad I'm no longer needing them.

I hate wings. They never quite stick on right and cause irritation.

1000% those brick stayfree pads from the early 90s where crazy!

Twenty years earlier, there was no adhesive. The pads had long straps on each end which had to be fitted into hooks on special underwear.

Good to be done with it. Hang on, ladies!

Try other brands.

I did. This is what works for me.

I used Always for 20 years and wow they’ve gone to shit. At this risk of TMI, they kind of crumble apart now? So weird. But it took me a long time to give up on them, I kept thinking I’d gotten a bad batch,p. Brand loyalty is real!

Anyway, in search of a replacement that wouldn’t be gross and irritating but could also handle an, ahem, not inconsiderable flow, I tried: Rael, Natracare, Cora (second best, if they could figure out how to make it less annoying to remove the paper liner from the wings), and a couple of others.

But when I finally found the winner it was totally by accident! In a moment of “eight days early” desperation I was forced to grab whatever the convenience store had, which happened to be Stayfree ultra thin. I remember these being horrible when I was a teen. Well, guess they upped their game when Always cheaped out, they’re AWESOME now. 10/10 in every way and also, bonus, much cheaper than the other options.

Wing or wingless? The stayfree ones have a scent to them like floral scent.

Sorry about the link. I always buy the original ones in the pink bag. I do not like the ultra thins and after checking the site, I notice something called "one pad" for period/bladder leaks, that I've never tried.

Interesting, I was going say Always but upon googling, I see reddit posts that say "what happened to all the pantyliners with wings?" I remember them having always having options!

The adhesive from the wings and some of the plastic gets stuck to my underwear so I quit wings.
