I don't do smoothies either; I just eat whole fruit.

You’re missing out on a whole wide world of cooking adventure, but at least you have your smugness to keep you warm.

LOL! And she send her guests out to the porch to eat their whole fruit too! I hope her warm smugness extends to the front porch. Poor guests.

Is it a Delicious Piece of Fruit?

Once the guests get to the porch, I assume they take the opportunity to escape and run home!

Not a fancy gadget, but I use a small mesh strainer every day. I've been to so many AirBnb's that don't have one. Mine has a plastic handle and flat bottom, which is easier to use than the ones with a curved bottom.

I'm also a Benriner mandolin fan and almost consider it a necessity rather than a gadget (much like a potato peeler and scale....which are prep game-changers). Reviews from thekitchn and bonappetit. I buy them at our local Asian store for less than the Amazon list.

As for an actual gadget, I'll go with my OXO mango slicer. Definitely not needed but, gosh, it makes enjoying that fruit so much easier.

If anyone is looking for a peeler, this is the best I've ever used-

My apple slicer-corer. I didn't grow up with one but I now use it almost every day for kid lunches.

Instant Pot - use it a couple times a week

And then, this isn't really a gadget, but I buy the little frozen squares of garlic and ginger that Trader Joe's sells. Makes my life SO much easier!

I'm confused by the photos in this one. Where do the holes go?

My most important tool in the kitchen is my good knife, but for gadgets, I love my KitchenAid mixer with grater attachment and also my instant pot and blender (both stick and regular). My food processor broke and I am in the fence about replacing it or just making do with these tools.
What kind of blender do you have? I needed a new one, but they are all so huge now.

I love this thread am getting great ideas that are new to me.
My favorite gadget is my immersion blender. For most of my life I poured hot soup into a blender in batches, all while trying to not get dangerously burned and it always resulted in a mess. Every time I use the immersion blender I feel like it’s magic.

Loving the recs! I feel like we need some context to some. For example, I live in a townhome with a small kitchen, and I put my Kitchenaid mixer in storage years ago and don't miss it. Too much counter space and I'm a cook not a baker! Just didn't have the space. My big one, that's not exactly a gadget is my Breville oven. I have precious little counter space but use that thing constantly. I also have a really good emon press and garlic press I use a ton. Also wonderful Japanese knives but I don't count those as gadgets.

Tell me more!

We're getting ready to downsize in both household size and house size so I've asked for a "toaster" oven and Breville pops up over and over as a favorite. Which model do you have? How long have you had it? Would you buy it again?
