This house is on my street and went on the market today...great location, nicely done, and perfect for a starter home...I am guessing it will go fast because this location is wonderful (we walk to the metro, etc.).

A house that is $865k is a "starter" home? Are you a realtor? |
Really need and want a foyer -- wouldn't buy a house without one. |
Don't like the siding.
The kitchen is also ugly. I still think it will sell very fast. Oh, and no way is 865K a starter home. |
Can't stand the kitchen floor. |
I think it's a nice house- but definitely not just a "starter" home.
|
Who the fuck pays $800K for a starter home? Are you off your old lady rocker? |
a desperate realtor trying to start a buzz about a listing...........
crappy location of the street. you are boxed in by old georgetown road, hard to get out of there every morning and afternoon. will sell fast but at $799 |
I can almost guarantee that the listing agent for this property is way too busy to post on DCUM. Perhaps the seller? |
She is a good agent but Jane rarely does anything beyond the first meeting then she pawns it off on one of her many many people who work under her. All they do is run people through house afte rhouse trying to get buyers to move up or sellers to bring their price down to move it quickly so they can say we sell most of our houses in xyz days. We decided not to use her and used an agent that was a lot more relaxed. We were told by Jane that our house would sit by using that agent and our hosue had multiple offers the Monday after it went on the market and went for more than she thought. That agent is only working hard at trying to move people along and not build relationships. |
I'm always astounded when someone posts something like "ugly kitchen," and then I look at it and wonder WTH they think is attractive. The house is on the small side, but it's very nicely done. There's nothing particularly ugly about that kitchen! I have no skin in the game since I'm not looking for houses in Bethesda, I'm just always amazed when there's a pronouncement of "ugly" or "hideous" and then you see a relatively nice, well-done space. I've seen ugly and that isn't it. It may not be perfect, but compared to a lot of houses I've seen lately, in a much higher price point, at least you could move right in tto this house and live quite well. |
Yes, you step right into the LR from outside. For $865, no way I would accept that. |
Ladies, I assure you that I'm just a friendly DCUM poster. I am renting on this street and love it - would have considered buying it myself except we are moving tomorrow into a new home. And while $865 isn't a "starter home" for some, for others who can afford it, this IS a good starter home if you want and can afford to live in Betheda. I'm not friends with the neighbors or anything, but it looks nicely done and this is an ideal neighborhood if you're transitioning from D.C. (I'm a city girl myself) to the 'burbs (you can walk to everything in downtown Bethesda, the bus stops at the end of the street, NIH and its paths are at the end of the street, etc. I don't think you can beat this area and I've loved living here. Was just trying to be helpful. ![]() Also, what do people do with a foyer exactly? I've never had one...I always think it's a bunch of wasted space. |
If you did read previous threads for people's HHI, it is a starter home. ![]() |
