I was invited to a housewarming/new home get together by an acquaintance that is a Jehovah Witness. Is it offensive to bring a gift? Can they accept a gift? |
Yes. It's really just Christmas and birthdays. |
Great!! Thanks! |
So, no gifts for these occasions? Why? |
As long as you don't give them blood, you're good.
|
They just don't celebrate them. |
LOL - good one |
Yes, my cousins are Jehovah's Witnesses and we send them anniversary presents instead of birthday/Christmas presents. All other occasions for gift-giving are fine- in fact my cousins are probably the most materialistic people I know- but birthday and Christmas gifts are forbidden by the religion. |
Yes, a house warming gift is fine. My in-laws are of this religion, but we give them mothers day/fathers day and anniversary gifts, they don't do Christmas/Easter/birthdays. |
