Oh, shut up. I'm tired of you. You're part of the community protecting the girls. Aren't you ashamed of yourselves for letting someone else take the fall for the series of mistakes the girls made? As someone else has pointed out, they don't even have the guts to so much as stand in front of the media and beg for any information or help in retrieving their friend, dead or alive. |
Because they haven't been questioned for day, held, passports taken, brought to the scene in the middle of the night for re-enactment. So we will never know. |

One thing that makes his story very believable for me is that video saw him leaving the beach at 8:15 am. If he had purposely harmed her, he wouldn’t have hung around the beach for 4 hours. Tubs seems more consistent with his story that he vomited, thought he had ditched him (which many people would do if they were drunk and the person they were with was vomiting extensively) and passed out on a chair. When he woke up he was still probably still drunk or massively hung over and just stumbled back to his room.
Why her friends didn’t report her sooner is a mystery but it probably wouldn’t have made a difference. It’s extremely tragic but I don’t think this guy did anything criminal. And I’m the kind of person that thinks probably 1/10 guys is an opportunity rapist, so it’s not like I jump to defend guys. The people saying he did it have a huge whole in their story — if he had drowned her, the body would be just as likely to resurface on the reef or beach as if she had drowned accidentally, so lack of body proves nothing. And he didn’t have the means to transport her body off the beach, plus that would have shown on the numerous video cameras. |
Her name has only come forward because it was on the list of Venmo's the missing woman sent that was released (I don't understand why her Venmo transactions were released but they were). And how am I supposed to put pressure on her? I don't know her. I am not a member of her community. Have any suggestions other than a broad nonsensical statement? |
Are there issues with their visa status why are they protecting them. This is some shady stuff. |
But only one of these people has ever been, and continues to be held, for 12 days. The others continued their day boat excursion, caught their flights home, and are back at school. |
Silence speaks volumes. Good or bad whatever. They have already given their stories it seems to LE. They probably got the hell out of the country because they don't want to suffer too, or vacation in a place that based on some of the travel reviews -eek. Or and most likely they had to resume classes after spring break. They must be in shock or feeling guilty for various reasons, whether they were "best" friends or not, they have lost a friend temporarily or forever. Or they have been advised to protect "their" community's image which at this point is so ridonc (yes, okay, Indian young women also party get over it - there's a young woman missing. Or they have all been advised not to speak to media they don't want attention drawn to them for safety reasons, or possibly if they know other things ("their" culture related things or possibly related to India/Indian embassy if that is whom the young woman's parents had to contact if it was alleged that US authorities couldn't or wouldn't help them initially in the DR etc..). And their stories could affect the US's POI as he recollects his memories. |
Are all the girls Indian? |
I think so. Either very selfish culture or guilty of something they got out immediately |
??? I'd bring my kid home in this situation. Demand it even. Not trusting some banana republic cops. No matter how much she protested. |
She was on vacation with 5 friends. There were 3 of the friends with her that went to the beach. Where were the other two friends that night? |
Is it just one poster or a few that are behind a push to name the traveling companions? Maybe they were "cleared" by LE and aren't POI so there isn't any point. Why don't they name the bartenders? Was it a Carlos that served the drinks that morning or an Arlos that did? |
I see, the anti Indian brigade has show up to help the police
Okay, have at it, girls |
