GDS and Sidwell don’t have a 10 out of 12 season sport requirement. STA and NCS do. It makes a difference.

Actually Sidwell had 11 out of 12 season sport requirement. Has it changed?

As of last year Sidwell required 10 out of 12 seasons.

Maybe with the added issue of common ap where people are applying (as is their right financially) suddenly this issue is really apparent. Also I do not recall when my youngest went through this process that the public schools were allowing constant retests. I am glad SAT is coming back because at least you can prove yourself that way.

SAT doesn’t prove anything. People retake SAT as many times as needed to get the score they want and hire expensive test prep. It’s not like these kids are just going in there one Saturday and then dazzling everyone with stellar scores.

Current junior at another school has a 35 (after 3 attempts) - taking again to get to 36…..
It’s ridiculous.

Given you have Dalton and other non-DC schools posted, for context you might want to look at 2 Chicago area private schools for comparison (Latin and Parker): Latin2024decisions and Parkerdecisions. And Ransom Everglades in Miami (ransomseniors)?

Also, LA schools?

No thank you. Both of those cities are much larger than DC. Draw from different area. It is not helpful.

All three of those will be very finance heavy/VIP parents - similar to Dalton, which will impact the results.

Why is it ridiculous? Are you the parent? If they have a goal then they should go for it.

Plus, what are people going to do, move their kids to LA because they like the other school's results better? This whole thread is dumb and useless and embarrassing to the students, but adding schools no one would even go to from here is beyond.

The better known LA area schools in addition to Harvard Westlake are Brentwood School, Crossroads, and Campbell Hall.

It’s in the list, between Potomac and Madeira. The school’s full name is Georgetown Visitation.
