Do you ever look at a "hot" celeb and realize they aren't really attractive?

Yes. Watch that movie with him and Steve Carrell. Then, let’s talk. Hot.

The one where he plays a total sleazebag? No thanks!

That's ridiculous. Millions of people all over the world found her to be very attractive. That indicates that the perception problem might be...you.

Obviously attractiveness is subjective and many people will disagree on who is attractive but the premise of this topic is really flawed. To say some hot celebs are not really attractive is dumb, the only truth in that is that some hot celebs are not attractive to you. How is that noteworthy?

NP. Millions of people are mesmerized by royalty. Strip away the title and posh accent, and I doubt those millions would be clamoring for Di to be on magazine covers. If you saw her working as a cashier at your local Dollar Store, she wouldn’t merit a second glance.

I think Princess Diana’s style is out of style now. It’s like looking at photos of women from 100 or more years ago who were the beauties of their time and often I just can’t see what their appeal was. Like in the 1920s, the bee-stung lip look is so odd to our current fashion for fuller lips. Her hair looks severe and too done and a lot of her clothes look dowdy. Her facial features are not what is “in” right now—I think her nose is bigger than something would think is attractive now, for instance.

I think the other thing that’s lost is that what made her appealing was her youth and charisma. A similar person is Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, considered a great beauty in her day but now I’ve seen people say that she was odd-looking with her eyes too far apart and other flaws. I think both were unusual and new for the time periods they lived in, were photogenic and had personal charisma which was appealing to people at that particular time, but often that appeal isn’t the same later. For instance, I think Jacqueline’s baby voice sounds very strange today.

OP. Not at all. I can name many women from her era and before that are far more attractive than her. PP had it right when she said she could just be a cashier and nobody would look twice. You can't say that about Christy Brinkley or Cindy Crawford. I would even say she looks like a middle school PE teacher.

NP I never thought she was some great beauty either. But I think a lot of it had to do with her presence and style. She was 5'10 with an athletic build and seemed to exude a natural charisma and confidence. That can speak volumes beyond just physical features.

Someone else I put in this category is Maggie Gyllenhaal. People have crapped on her looks but I have seen her in person in my Brooklyn neighborhood on a couple occasions and she's actually very striking in person. She's also tall and has a certain confidence in how she moves/carries herself.

Russell Crowe…

I will never understand it. Most of my local grocery stores have cashiers with more charisma.

Some people make me think they sold their soul to the devil, because nothing else makes sense.

And her body is just "boy"...no defined waist and no hips really. I also had a similar revelation about Cameron Diaz. Now I look at her and think she's straight up homely. I also feel like Jennifer Aniston may belong in this group? I know I will get replies like "well let's see you op" but I'm not a famous celebrity known for my looks. I'm purely talking about people who are known as very attractive and kind of giving them a second look and not really seeing it anymore.

Almost all celebra are overexposed. This isn’t anything new.

He has a great voice and knows how to use it.

Timothee Chalamet... I just don't get it. I don't buy his carefully-curated off-screen persona, either.

56 male and married and yes she's hot hot hot. Her husband, not at all.

51, married and male and absolutely agree. She is smokin' hot.

With her original big nose or without?

Her face isn’t pretty but everything else is hot. Hair, body, skin but face is average at best. Honestly, some people are just really into blondes.

I get that, but her roots are brown?
So it comes down to her body being her main asset. Something like Jennifer Aniston.

Blake is a blonde even if her hair is brown. She is a lot of men’s dream girl: the one you want to sleep with AND marry. Fabulous body, funny, feminine and appears easy-going without any pretenses to the intelligentsia.

Nicole Kidman. She's not usually referred to as "hot" but "beautiful," and I don't see it at all.

Bradley Cooper. I thought he was so hot in that Las Vegas movie where they lose their friend on the roof. But ever since then he has become less and less attractive to me. I like his voice now but don’t find him attractive at all.

I laughed way too hard at this

Halle Berry. OK, she's prettyish but not the gorgeous beauty that she has been made out to be. If I was a man, I wouldn't be in a rush to date her.

I've always thought that there was something 'missing' with her.

NP. I see the abs, I think he’s probably very charismatic, but even looking at that gif I’m like…thin lips and eyes too close together.

In recent pictures he looks like he is wearing a hairpiece.
