Taylor Swift album Tortured Poets Department leaked early?

Why is Taylor Seift writing a song about Kim Kardashian? Short-sighted to drag out mess from 8 years ago. Psst, Taylor, you won already. It feels beneath her, childish, like a slam book.
Anonymous
It’s always fun listening to her new albums bc they are such cultural phenomenons. I don’t care for these songs generally aside from a few Anthology ones. The KIM one is just stupid revenge and juvenile.

I disagree, I think she's at the point she doesn't edit herself for great quality anymore. She thinks her fans just want it all and will love it all even if it's okay only, which isn't wrong.

This is a woman who can put down a song in 20 minutes. I think she has so much material for songs that she continuously writes them as both an emotional purge and to share her life with fans...and that's precisely why she has such a large following. I mean didn't she say she would just have to put out better music when Reputation didn't get any nominations?

Critics have gone back and reappraised Reputation. Most seem to think it’s held up better than expected.

Reputation is my first TS love and i cannot wait for taylor’s version. Folklore is my absolute perfect album. I’m loving the anthology songs.

I found this to be her funniest album. I actually laughed out loud at some of the lyrics.

She also says she's a functional alcoholic which some clocked.

It’s so shitty to out someone for that . Of course it’s always the man with the issues and never her. She will be in serious trouble if that man commits suicide because of the crazy Swifties going after him

I agree with this. trashing ex boyfriends was cute when she was college aged and established older actors like Jake gylenhaal and John Mayer were taking gross advantage of a 20 year old, but now it’s 15 years later and she’s still doing the same shtick of very clearly airing dirty laundry and throwing her ex boyfriends - some of whom were serious relationships - under the bus. Doing this every six months in her mid thirties strikes me as juvenile and emotionally stunted. It’s like she’s addicted to the break ups/relationships for the content and I think it’s super weird.

I think you underestimate the damage the whole thing did to her psyche and the trauma it caused. I can somewhat relate but in a different way. It changed her forever.

As she posted last night, "This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it."

Pretty
Convenient. “I’m going to drop these terrible insults on these people and then refuse to talk about it because this period of the authors life is over! I’m free of it!”

To out someone for what?

Also she did once say it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me. Not to mention the TTPD album notes in which she said much of this was self-inflicted.

As a Swiftie, I must say this album is a let down. Most of it sounds the same and there isn’t a single catchy song!

Most kids just stream music, which you can do for free. I have listed to the whole thing twice including repeats on demand for free on pandora with some ads.

People buying albums are collectors or want the art. So they would PREFER more.

I feel like she screwed over her fans who preordered the album on iTunes who now have to pay twice for the same songs (12.99 + 14.99) when they could have had them all for 14.99. Like she needs more money.

Can someone explain this to me. They are two different albums. They aren’t the same songs.
Explain it like I’m 5.

They can’t explain it to you because they don’t understand it. They think people are mad because she release two albums, but that’s not it it.

Here’s an excerpt from an article Explain why people are mad…

Taylor Swift’s forthcoming album The Tortured Poets Department will be released on four different-coloured vinyl editions, each of them containing a different bonus track to incentivise fans to buy all four.

Why is it so hard for you to understand. Fan preordered one album so she took their money for that one. Then 2 hrs later released another album with an additional 15 songs, not jus tan additional bonus tracks but a whole second album for the price of one, in ADDITION to all the songs on the first album. So instead of getting all 31 songs on the second album for $14.99. They are now stuck paying $12.99 for the first album and an additional $14.99 for the second. So $27.98 for 31 songs instead of $14.99. Now had she released these weeks apart I would not care, but 2 hrs apart and pushing pre-sales when she knew she would force those who committed to the presale to buy both albums is a smart business move but also greedy and rude to fans.

All the people that bought the original album got the extra songs in the middle of the night without purchasing anything that’s why they were freaking out at 2 AM.

I preordered in iTunes and only received the first album/16 songs. If I want the other songs I need to purchase the second album.

Dp- as it should be . It’s another album.

Another album that where half the songs are also on the first album.

If I had not been a fool to preorder and had walked into the store today and could chose between the two I would be an idiot to not just buy the second one that has ALL the songs for the same price vs the first one with just half the songs. It was a shitty move one her part.

Now if Album 1 was songs 1-16 and album 2 was 17-31 I would not complain.

Weird in my iTunes I got all 31 for $14.

Everybody, but you got all of the songs you might want to talk to a manager.

Because the pre orders all go to the first week tally. Wink , wink.

She’s trying to beat Adele.

Taylor is like the greediest pop star ever. Did Britney cheat like this back then? She used to get a million a week when she was the bubblegum sensation in the late 90s

Eh, I just read an article that Joe made several million bucks off of Taylor‘s albums that he co-wrote some of the songs during lockdown.

It’s hard to feel too sorry for him. He knew what he was getting into dating the absolute number one pop star on earth. They got together in 2017. She was an absolute global phenomenon at that point. She had a phase where she backed off the public for a while but come on. They dated during her reputation tour, which was huge.

I’m sure he’s not complaining about the residuals he will get the rest of his life.
