Parking near Verizon Center

Anonymous
We are going to a concert at the Verizon Center next week (Foo Fighters) and I am wondering how much parking is available around that area of town. DH doesn't want to park in the Verizon Center garage because he thinks it will be a zoo. Is there plentiful parking within a few blocks or should we just take Metro instead?

Metro. Unless you can plan to be there by 3pm.

OP here...I forgot to mention that the concert is on Veteran's Day, so Federal Gov't workers will not be working that day...

Federal Govt' workers take Metro.

Take. Metro.

OP,

I always go to Verizon Center (concerts and games). And if you, like me, hate the metro specially when it is cold, just park in one of the hundreds parking garages around.

totally worth it and you will be fine. It is a concert, not the inauguration day so the zoo will not be so zoo, you know?

Dave Grohl, who is from Arlington, would want you take Metro. C'mon, you can do it! This is a call to take Metro in times like these.

The garages will charge about $30 but just arrive about an hour before the concert and you'll be fine. Of course, just check for street parking first. The only downside to metro is depending on where you live the trip home usually sucks that time of night. Especially if you have to transfer.

Hope there won't be a metro melee afterward with rowdy drunk fans.

HUNDREDS of parking garages around the Verizon Center! That is hysterical!

plenty of parking spaces around the blocks of the building museum and GAO, and for free due to fed holiday. and free parking anyway after 7pm.

enjoy.

Federal holiday might mean that you could find street parking within a few blocks - it's worth a try. Try E St. and 6th St. South of E, and maybe even 9th Street south of E. (one-way southbound - there are often spaces on the left side of the street around 5:00 when i'm walking to metro.)

They've really tightened up the street parking regs for many blocks around Verizon center. It used to be that there were some spots that went off meter or 2 hours after a certain time. But now most of them are 3 hours or less. So be careful. There are plenty of expensive garages though.

There is an online website called SpotHero that has a lot of good parking near the Verizon Center.

If I remember correctly they have parking around $15. Here is a link for events and parking at the Verizon Center.

Open air parking lot across form Sixth and I Historic Synagogue -- $20 event parking, easy in and out, just around the corner and down the block is Verizon Center.
