I can't get an appt to see my doctor and need to take DS somewhere today. Does anyone know of a pediatric urgent care in downtown DC or somewhere in DC near a metro? We have no car at the moment so it needs to be metro or bus accessible.
Thanks. |
There is one a block away from Pentagon City metro (yellow/blue lines) - across from Costco on Fern Street, near Dunkin Donuts. Haven't been there myself, though. |
I can't speak for it myself, but a friend tells me very good things about DC Immediate and Primary Care in Cleveland Park (she has used it for her kids). |
(Oh, but it's not a pediatric urgent care, specifically...I think it's called Express Urgent Care or something like that) |
You could also see if CVS has a Minute Clinic somewhere metro accessible? The ones I've been to have been out in VA, away from metro stops, so I can't recommend one in particular, but I have had really good experiences with Minute Clinic in general. They only take kids over 18 months, I think, though so it will depend on how old your DS is?
Also, depending on where you are located, you could try Heidi Johnson at House Calls on the Hill (202.306.5862). She is a pediatric nurse practitioner who, as the name suggests, makes house calls on Capitol Hill. We have used her many times and she is awesome! |
My husband goes here sometimes. Haven't used it for kids but I really liked this place--very clean and professional. |
Have been to the one in Cleveland Park....great place....call ahead and let them know you have a child |
Ditto Cleveland Park recommendation - took our toddler there last spring and they were great. |
A new place is now open in Capitol Hill...the place and staff are wonderful and looks almost the same as the one in Cleveland Park. I don't think their website works or maybe is under construction. Check them below. http://www.yelp.com/biz/metro-immediate-and-primary-care-washington-2 Metro Immediate & Primary Care 3 reviews Category: Urgent Care [Edit] 220 L St NE (between N 3rd St & N Congress St) Washington, DC 20002 Neighborhood: H Street Corridor/Atlas District/Near Northeast (202) 544-7580 http://www.metroimmediatecare.com |
Brand new urgent care in Clarendon. 1 block from Clarendon Metro. Took my son there for an xray--no wait, very clean, very fast.
CVS has many mintue clinics---have used them in the District for strep tests. |
+1, only took our toddler three weeks ago. |
I have been to DC Immediate & Primary Care in Cleveland Park and Metro Immediate & Primary Care in Capitol Hill for my kid and myself. Both places are great!!! However I recommend calling ahead both places to find out waiting time. My son was not feeling well so we decided to Metro Immediate & Primary Care. He had strep throat. We were in and out within 40 min. |
Last time we went to CVS we were told to go and see and the doctor. They recommended DC Immediate and primary care. Such a wonderful experience!!! |
From google search - a new place METRO IMMEDIATE & PRIMARY CARE SILVER SPRING down town silver spring 8484 GEORGIA AVE. I am not sure when when they will open... however more options, hopefully good ones... and less waiting time. |
I thought that one shut down years ago---there is the new one in Clarendon now. |
