With DC#1, I dressed my newborn in the hospital kimonos shirts and diapers only... with this baby, I want to put her in something of her own, but don't want to fiddle with too much over-the-head, pants, etc. I want easy to put on and pretty clothing.
If you dressed your newborn in something of her/his own in the hospital, what did you take? |
a colorful onesie will do just fine. Buttons in front. |
We got cute kimono shirts and our own receiving blankets.
Aside from the fact DD was the only hairy baby in the entire nursery it was nice to look at her in there and see she was not one in a million... Oh my special snow flake ![]() |
zutano has some cute stuff. i got a cute owl shirt and yellow pants. |
The l and d nurse advised me towards t shirts and pants so you don't irritate the little cord stump. |
Carters always has lovely/cute newborn oneies in soft cotton, terry or fleece. There's a Carters in VA at Bailey's Cross Roads. |
Please don't do onesies the first days.... The belly button stump has to air dry and nothing should rub against it.
Kimono shirts are enough. The baby will be swaddled so pants will only make it complicated to change diapers. Save the cutesy stuff for home once the stump is gone. Invest in cute Kimono shirts and a few beautiful muslin blankets to keep the baby warm in the AC of postpartum rooms. |
Hmm... really? (OP here.) Baby will be born in early November, so it won't be hot out. Good suggestion about the swaddling providing some warmth... I just want something prettier than Carter's and plain shirts. |
