My second son is named Paul, so I am partial. I adore that name (which also happens to be my Father's after whom our son is named.) And the beautiful thing is there are very few Pauls these days.

Matthew is one of my favorites that we will never use.

My husband is Matthew, and it goes quite well with his cumbersome 4 syllable last name.

Mine too! I love it.... and definitely the least-used on your list.

My son would be named Paul if it didn't rhyme with our last name...
The others are also nice, but less special.

Like them all. Agree that you don't hear Paul too much now and it's a great name.

They're all good names. My favorite is William with the nickname Will.

The more complicated the last name, the simpler the first name should be. Paul would be my choice.

William.

Matthew.

Paul.

In that order of preference. My grandfather was Paul, but I just don't like the sound of hte name, in spite of the fact that I adored my grandfather. And I have 2 good friends named Paul.

Do you like the law firm sounding names? You could go with something like "Huntington Thatcher (your last name)."

If not, go for something shorter, like Joel, Noah, Ty, Ash, Brandt, Cole, Finn, Ian, Rafe, etc.
