10 year olds texting their parents “come back and pick me up Coach Eric was let go”.

An absolute shit show. Someone sue AB before he hurts a kid at this point.

There is zero chance any 10yr old texted his/her parents that "Coach Eric was let go."

With the whole situation, you found the sample verbiage of kids texts to be the biggest surprise in this?!?

not the biggest surprise, just the biggest falsehood

So is it true? (ED being fired - not the texting)

Is this the same guy? https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/450/1179057.page. If so sounds like him leaving was in the works for a while since the post is dated February.

"Eric Davey has resigned as well. He will finish out the spring season and then he's gone.”

This is not a scandal. The team has coaches to finish out the season. He had already given notice months ago. VRSC has him listed on their website as a GA coach for next season. Everyone knew he was leaving. It’s not uncommon for an employer to not keep someone around for months after they give notice once they line up your replacements.

Another Adam burner. He didn’t even know the kids names when he took over practice after informing the kids and parents that Eric was let go.

No ten year old should have a phone.

AB finds new ways for everyone to lower their opinion of him even further.

And yes, while 10-year olds shouldn't have a phone, we live in the DMV and everyone here does. Right or wrong, it is what it is in this area.

Firing someone after they've already resigned is the most TSJ thing to do...he was the only coach that is leaving that offered to stay for the entire spring season for the players.

My expectations of FCV leadership at this point was extremely low, but this is next level. If i was this incompetent at my job, i'd be fired not promoted. What is going on at TSJ?

Nonsense. My kids don't get phones until they start 9th grade. When they were 10, none of their friends had phones.

They all do - come to a 2013 practice.

But keep distracting from the real point that Adam created another vacuum he can’t fill.

2015s - gone
2014s - gone
2013s - now gone
2012s - now gone
2009s - majority gone to VRSC
2008s - gone to VRSC

I hope Tony recruits enough Loudoun kids at their tryouts for 6 teams.

You missed some

2011s - gone to VRSC & VDA
2010s - gone to VRSC & VDA

I agree, no phone til 9th.... but about 4-5 girls out of 20 have phones out at practice on our 2 current U11 teams. I know because its brought up by my daughter constantly.

How about we all agree that it's kinda silly for 10 year olds to have iPhones and instead focus on the absurdity of AB and STJ decision-making through all this turmoil?

Usually if a coach takes another position they run the risk of being let go. Clubs build into their contracts that the coach can only be contracted to one club. You take another job at another club, even if it is for next season, and you will likely be let go because the tendencies for coaches to recruit players away is too great. This isn't a soccer thing, but a business thing.

I will tell you want we can agree to. How about we agree that you don't get to tell us what to focus on.

Okay Adam, but now you just lost all of them instead of some.

These are 10 and 11 year olds. The business plan of yanking a coach then having absolutely 0 plan to coach two tournaments and four weeks of NCSL is so unbelievably stupid I can’t believe people like this make over $15 an hour.

Adam was literally walking around asking names and positions.

OK tough guy. If you want to focus on the irrelevant, knock yourself out.
