What would you get? This is a celebration gift to my self and no, I don't normally spend like this. I like classic things with a twist. I tend not to be very logo oriented. Thanks! |
I would spend $300 on a nice handbag and send the rest to a charity like Save the Children helping children in the famine in Africa.
Seriously. You can treat yourself and not be totally selfish and consumer-oriented. Have a little balance. |
PP, get over yourself.
OP, just to spite that random poster on an anonymous internet message board, I propose that you get a purse made from the skin of illegally slaughtered baby seals. |
If I had $1k to spend on myself, I think I'd go on a trip, buy a treadmill or buy a new diamond wedding band (preferably with blood diamonds). Couldn't justify the handbag. |
Even if I could, I wouldn't. OMG that's a crazy amount of money for a handbag. You can get something incredible for even half that amount. |
I bought a LV Neverfull GM. Under $900, most money I ever spent on myself. It is my "everything" bag. Got the checkered print, not the LV. Work/travel/business meetings. I love it every time I wear it or see it on someone else. |
Ok so what would you get for 3-500? |
I love Jimmy Choo handbags. They're beautiful, classic and do not scream "I am wearing a label" the way LV or Gucci bags do. I also love Miu Miu bags. |
I love the LV Neverfull as well in the checkered print. I don't own one see women with them once and while. They look great. |
I would love to get a Chanel suit! But I love clothes more than bags.

spending 1k on a handbag is the stupidest idea ever!
what a waste of money!! |
You criticizers are real jerks. Obviously OP has the money to spend and, believe me, quality lasts. My mom splurged on an LV bag 25 years ago and the thing still looks great *and* she still uses it. That's value. I splurged about 7 or 8 years ago on a Bottega Veneta bag at a Neiman Marcus 'last call' sale - it was marked down to $250 or so from it's original 600. It is in great condition. I can't say the same for the relatively cheap $100 and $200 bags I buy once a year. They're in the garbage. OP - enjoy your bag. |
OMG - whoever posted those handbag links thank you! I just went to neiman's and found out the second link, small tan bag, is the "Salvatore Ferragamo Brianna Tote, Small" was on Guiliana and Bill's reality show on the style network the other night and I've been trying to find it. Unfortunately it is over 1,000 which is way over my budget.
OP, not judging but I agree that if I had 1K to splurge I'd probably treat myself to a $300 handbag and an awesome spa day. Facial and massage for sure, maybe at a nice hotel spa and spend the night at the hotel, order room service and watch a movie! Work out in the gym the next day....ah dreams. But I guess if I HAD to spend 1K I love the one posted above, the PP's second link. I don't think it's worth 1K but if someone is holding a frickin' gun to my head ![]() |
I purchased a nice leather Gucci (sans logo). I had never spent anything over $100 on a bag and decided to splurge on something of quality. This bag is holding up like no other bag I have ever owned! I do not change bags often and most likely will be using this one for a few years. I'd rather have one $1,000 bag than five $200 bags. |
A Marc jacobs quilted bag. Beautiful... |
