LAMB Family Play Date at Upshur Park for new students, July 30

My daughter will be starting at the LAMB Brookland Campus next year. There has been talk about having a meet and great, playdate at Upshur Park for new families on another thread. I would like to suggest that we meet at Upshur Park (14th St. & Arkansas Avenue NW) on Saturday, July 30 in the morning, say 9:30, before it gets too hot. I will bring some bagels and orange juice. Parking is easy, and the pool opens at noon and there is a nice cafe, Highlands, a few blocks up 14th street if you want to extend your day in the area.

I know the whole world of new LAMB families does not read DCUM so we should try to spread this date around to others. I just called the school to speak to the new parent liasion, but she is in training this week. I can call her next week and invite her and ask her to spread the word too. And any current LAMB families should feel free to join us; we would welcome the opportunity to learn more about the school from you!

One of the PPs here...I called LAMB today and mentioned this meet-up. She said she'd pass the message along to the new parent liaison staff in case she doesn't already know about this informal meet-up.

OP here - we didn't set an end time, but it will be hot again on Saturday, so I wouldn't imagine much past 11:30. Email me offline (email address in original post) and I will provide my cell phone if you want to call to see if people are still there.

Also, one of the current LAMB parents is going to let the teachers know about the gathering in case they want to join us.
