Cleveland Park flower thief

Hasn't been caught and he's hard at work trimming exotic flowers. What is the description? Guard your orchids.

If he's the same guy who has been raiding georgetown gardens and parks, here's the description:

short, stocky, and very very leathery/tan. In his fifties or early sixties. Dark hair. Usually wears baggy khaki or gray pants. Looks borderline - not completely normal, but you need to look closely to notice it.

Over the past six years, I've seen him several times clip every single blossom off of six huge hydrangea bushes in a public garden. It only takes him a few minutes. He's also taken flowers from front patios in my neighborhood. Believe it or not, he sometimes takes a cab when he's done. I've also seen him selling flowers on P Street in Dupont, but that was a long, long time ago.

No, 19:31, it's not a joke. The Cleveland Park list serve has a lot of posts about this. People get infuriated and frustrated that they spend time and energy tending their gardens, only to have this fool come along and help himself to their private gardens. Apparently he sells them to area flower shops.

I wonder, is this the same guy who has been stealing the flowers in front of the Washington Ballet on Wisconsin Ave? I thought this was a new phenomenon!!
