| PK4 high 30's do we have a chance? |

Reposting to merge threads:
Here's a fun story- this monday I got an email saying that my child was not eligible for LAMB due to age (she is). Which was confusing since the confirmation I got when I signed up for the lottery stated that we were all set. Now, when I called on Monday-ostensibly- this was after the lotto had occured SINCE WE ARE NOWHERE ON THE LIST POSTED!!! [Report Post] |
You should complain to the DCPCSB. |
Im starting at the school level. |
Maybe in May after they get approved to increase their enrollment. But they'd only get 40-50 new spots (60-70) overall with more openings in PK3. Frustrating that they don't actually give results so we can see the PK3/PK4 proportion of winners today. |
| On the noticeable number of twins at the top of the wait lists -- does that mean that twins have two places in the lottery? In other words, twins have double the chance of everyone else? (just as triplets would have triple the chance ...) |
Yes, twins have two places in the lottery. As would two siblings lotterying for separate grades. |
If twin #1 gets in, twin #2 is pulled to the top of the waitlist for sibling preference. So LAMB has reordered the waitlist positioning siblings (twins) together. |

I'm so confused - are the lists posted including the admitted students? Or only the waitlist?
We are somewhere between 35-45 for pk3. Not sure what that means for our chances?.... |
I think you have a pretty good shot. It's our first choice of schools, we'd love to be in your spot! |
Last year it was showing the full draw, in other words those admitted and those on the waitlist. So if that's still the case this year, it would actually mean that you are in a good position for PK3. Call the school to confirm and then post here! |
| what's all the fuss about LAMB? Is it really that good of an education? Has anyone ever left there and been accepted to private? |
| Alas. no shot here with a number in the mid-400s. I'm feeling oddly deflated; I'm not sure why since I knew the odds and was positive but not over-the-moon about the school. common lottery results will presumably be real turmoil. |
| In the low 60's PK4. No chance, right? |
Yes children have gone from LAMB to private including Sidwell, Field, Burke, St Anselms. Others are doing well at Wash Latin, SWW, Wilson and BASIS. The fuss is that is an established (14 years) dual language Montessori with strong test scores. |
