I am starting tomorrow and am about 20 lbs. heavier than I'd like to be so don't feel comfortable wearing a tennis skirt or dress. Thanks. |
Top: a sports bra
Bottom: Commando |
Some tennis skirts are relatively flattering for those of us with some weight to lose. Check out the Bolle brand, which you can get from the Midwest Tennis website, and many other places as well. I wear these with sleeveless Nike or Under Armour shirts. Have fun! |
My number one priority is a pocket or somewhere to hold a ball without it falling out. After that, any shorts or skirt will do, or, if I am playing at my parent's club, all whites... |
Sunscreen, moisture-wicking shirt and undies, sports bra, supporting socks and shoes and breathable sports shorts. |
Is this not an integrated club? |
You're joking right? PP means all white clothing. |
yes, I mean all white clothing, calm down. |
For the love of God, whatever you wear, just do not wear it to the grocery store! You may think you look hot (I think I look hot in my tennis whites) - but you look silly out of context. Yes, you do. |
Who cares? Why can't I pop in and get some milk in my workout clothes? |
These people care http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/127972.page |
I don't play tennis but do wear my whites to the grocery store. |
I figured as much. |
OP, you may want to confirm with wherever you're playing what any color restrictions may be. Some places require all white clothing, and some require half-white clothing (white either top or bottom, or a dress that is half white). It can make shopping a bit harder. I actually found the right cut of tennis skirt to be more flattering when I was a bit heavier. There are some good cuts out there. Shorts have never been my friend. |
I just read that thread. Oh my gosh! I can't believe anyone cares that people run by the grocery store in their tennis clothes. We live in a golf/tennis community. It would be unusual in my neighborhood NOT to see women in tennis whites. Y'all are just weird! |
