Merchan needs to order the media not to publish any information about the jurors. The public does not need to know and Trump's followers have shown repeatedly over the last 8 years that they will harass and threaten jurors to intimidate them. The jurors should be completely anonymous to the public (not to those involved in the trial) until they have rendered their verdict. The cat is already out of the bag as the media has already put the jurors in danger with their careless actions. But Merchan should have known what is likely to happen and protected the safety of the jury. After they have rendered their verdict, and they could no longer be intimidated, the restriction could be lifted. There is plenty of time for the public to learn the couched details about the jurors after they have completed their civic duty, but there is no need to know for the public before the jury has decided. |
What was "brave" about this? |
Do you really need an explanation? It's kind of a no-brainer. |
Trump apparently believed that selecting jurors could go on forever. It's also past time for the Judge to fine defense lawyers for wasting the Court's time. |
Trump is absolutely terrified of this trial. |
