How difficult is that?

I’m in the “the US should cut funding, at least most of it, to Israel and wash our hands of this mess” camp and yet the idea of universities divesting because a bunch of wealthy brats had an ongoing temper tantrum makes me want to have the universities invest more, not less. Plus, Israel produces a lot of good stuff.

I do not like the idea of these larping entitled kids dictating any sort of investment policy.

I agree but feel the same way about the wealthy donors having a temper tantrum because students dared to complain about the Israeli Government. They all suck and they are all harming us. Send Bibi and Sinwar to the Hague. They can share the same cell for all I care.

Bad faith view of what the donors were reacting to.

Not at all. The bad faith is pretending that criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic. We are all sick of the bs, both yours and theirs.

They just seem like such a brats. I miss protestors with dignity. Like in the Civil Rights era.

This. Or even in the 90s when I was a college student. We showed up, we marched, we made noise, we went home.

If only you were personally divest!!! This is all BS. Everything you use is made in China, one of the worst human rights violators on the earth. What isn't made there is made in South America and Africa using children workers. People are so hypocritical it's astounding.

The divest wishlist includes stuff like who built a backhoe bought by an Israeli or their government.

Caterpiller, Alphabet {Google], Microsoft, Amazon, etc I wonder if any person from any of the organizations has a prime Membership or orders stuff https://www.finance.columbia.edu/sites/default/files/content/ACSRI/12.1.2023%20CUAD%20ACSRI%20Divestment%20Proposal.pdf

Oh well, maybe if you could make your point without your protestors violently rioting, blocking off access to Jewish students, your protest leaders expressing a desire to kill Jews, or your protests supporting terrorist entities that murdered Jews and took hundreds more hostage - all while disrupting the rest of the world who think you’re radicalized terrorists- people might start taking you seriously.

I know there are years and years of history surrounding this conflict which I am not educated in…but didn’t Palestine start this particular dispute by attacking civilians unprovoked?

F around and find out…

The difference is that there was widespread popular support for the Civil Rights protestors. Here, there isn’t. That means that the protestors are largely bored and spoiled kids, because the adults who have a lot to actually lose aren’t joining in. The Civil War protests were made powerful by people who had a lot to lose, and so who acted with dignity, strength, and grace. These are just entitled brats.

However, the protestors have inadvertently caused what is arguably the best GoFundMe description in history. I will give them that.

+1. Israel should have immediately leveled them. Going slow and careful has just extended the conflict. And they get no credit for it anyway.
